The Hopkinton Sustainable Green Committee is again partnering with Green Team Junk Removal and Eversource for this annual event offering you the convenience of bringing lots of the stuff you no longer need to one place, where it will be re-homed or disposed of responsibly.
NEW THIS YEAR, we’re offering free shredding and collecting 5¢ deposit cans/bottles to benefit the Senior Center. Similar to past years, we’ll be taking dehumidifiers, textiles, current books, e-waste, appliances, and more. Details are below. (Please note, we are unable to take furniture this year.) And we are welcoming our Ashland neighbors to participate with us!
While you're there, you can also talk to us about activities we do throughout the year, talk with a Mass Save rep to see how to save money on your home energy use, and learn more about the joys of composting! Don't forget to enter a free drawing to win a countertop compost bin.

Is there a rain date? No, it's a rain or shine event.

How many dehumidifiers can I get a rebate for? 2 per Eversource account number.
Is this only for Hopkinton residents? Only Hopkinton and Ashland residents can participate.
Do I need to clean the data off of my computer or phone before bringing it for recycling? Yes, you should do that for your own protection.
Are laptops donated for reuse? Most electronics are broken down into usable components for recycling.
What about cords and cables? Contact Green Team Junk Removal for the best answer - 508 361-0519.
Can I bring small non-usable appliances like coffee grinders or sewing machines? Yes, for a small fee.

What forms of payment are accepted? Cash, credit card, check.
What if I can't make that timeframe? Can I drop off early or late? No early or late dropoffs at this event but contact GreenTeam for their standard times.
Is the shredding done onsite? Yes, it is so you can see it. EL Harvey is doing the shredding. There is no limit to the amount you can bring to shred.
