About Us

About the Committee

Our committee is made up of fourteen Hopkinton residents appointed to three year terms, plus one youth member appointed for a one year term. We also have non-voting liaisons from the Select Board and School Committee.

Promoting sustainable practices throughout Hopkinton and reaching net zero carbon emissions by 2045 is a big job, so the majority of our work is done through specialized workgroups focusing on Buildings and Climate Action, Transportation, Zero Waste, and the Environment.

Full committee meetings are typically on Mondays once a month in the Town Hall basement meeting room, with a Google Meet virtual option available. Members of the public are welcome to attend both full committee and workgroup meetings. See the town events calendar for details.

Submit your application by clicking the Apply button on the town website. You don't have to wait until a spot opens up to apply.

Once appointed by the Select Board, you will be contacted by Town Hall about taking Conflict of Interest training, reading the information about Open Meetings, and getting sworn in by the Town Clerk. You will then be a voting member of the committee.
